Register as an individual if you are not attending as part of a group. Students applying for a national scholarship must register as individuals. If you are part of a group, contact your group coordinator prior to registering to prevent duplicate registrations.
Group registration requires a group coordinator to enter contact and other information for each attendee. When registering a group, coordinators can add and edit attendees’ information using their logins. If you need to make changes after your coordinator has completed your group registration, please follow the instructions in your confirmation message.
A 15 percent group discount is available to colleges and universities that are AAUW C/U members and that register four or more attendees as a group for the conference.
Residential registration includes …
Residential registrants receive housing for two nights (Thursday and Friday) in the University of Maryland residence halls. Additional nights can be purchased for Wednesday and/or Saturday for an additional $60 per person per night. Residence halls are traditional high-rise halls with double, triple, and quad occupancy rooms that open into a corridor. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor. Attendees may request gender-neutral bedroom/bathroom arrangements. A limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available. The university provides two flat sheets, a towel, a blanket, and pillows for your stay. All towels, blankets, and pillows are standard dorm-room size, so please consider bringing extra bedding and towels from home if that will make you feel more comfortable. Clean towels can also be requested daily. Bathrooms are communal, so bring a bathrobe and shower shoes.
The program will include an opening session, networking sessions, the Women of Distinction Awards ceremony and reception, keynote speakers, the graduate school and career fairs, workshops, a Friday night out in Washington, D.C., and the closing session.
We will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Thursday; breakfast and lunch on Friday; and breakfast on Saturday.
NCCWSL provides free bus transportation Friday night (6:30 p.m.–midnight) for attendees to visit Washington, D.C., and free buses Saturday after the conference to and from the Greenbelt Metro station (noon–5 p.m.).
Temporary reserved parking will be available near the registration site. If you are parked in reserved spots, you do not have to pay at the parking stations. Bring your luggage with you to registration and request a parking permit. You will leave your luggage with staff and move your car to a designated long-term lot after you register.
Commuter registration includes …
All of the above except housing and free parking.
Please park outside of registration temporarily as instructed in the Parking section above. You will receive instructions for parking your car in a pay station guest lot during registration. Commuter registrants are not provided free parking.
Opt to participate in one of the D.C.-based off-site activities. These activities are growing more popular each year, so sign up as soon as registration opens to make sure you get a spot. Buses will pick up participants Thursday afternoon on campus. We recommend you add Wednesday night to your residential registration so you can hop from the residence hall directly onto your bus.
Students must apply online to be considered for a national scholarship. The application is available from December 5, 2016, until 11:59 p.m. ET on February 28, 2017.
National scholarships cover
- residential or commuter registration,
- optional housing on the nights of Wednesday and/or Saturday, and
