You Loved NCCWSL … Now What?

The #NCCWSL17 Women of Distinction challenged us to change what the future looks like by writing our own stories. Help AAUW keep the NCCWSL momentum going! Here are five easy ways to practice your new skills this summer before you put them to use on campus this fall.

1. Flex your (new) leadership skills.

NCCWSL workshops taught you new ways to be heard — are you ready to take the lead? Practice your new leadership skills during your internship, job, or even in the classroom if you’re taking summer classes. Don’t forget that speaking up can be revolutionary.

2. Take action on feminist issues.

Boost your resume by promoting women’s issues as an AAUW Campus Ambassador. We’ll send you monthly emails with easy ways to take action plus ways to win free AAUW swag! Want to take your activism to the next level? Become an AAUW Two-Minute Activist to receive urgent messages to Congress right to your inbox.

3. Keep your networking game strong.

Don’t lose your new NCCWSL connections! Email the business cards you collected and connect on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter using #NCCWSL17. Like you, your new friends and followers are campus leaders, social justice activists, and nonprofit founders. They are great people to know as you continue to expand your feminist network.

4. Help make #NCCWSL18 the best one yet.

Think it’s too early to start planning for #NCCWSL18? Think again! Talk to your student activities office or your favorite faculty or staff member to apply for funding — or better yet, start fundraising yourself!

Pay it forward! Nominate peers with leadership skills or potential to attend next year’s conference.

5. Bring AAUW back to campus.

Join the feminist movement by bringing AAUW’s campus initiatives and leadership programs to your school. Sign up to be among the first to know when National Student Advisory Council (SAC) and Campus Action Project (CAP) grant applications are released, bring an AAUW Start Smart salary negotiation workshop to campus, or take it to the next level by forming an AAUW student organization.
