The University of Maryland, College Park is located in the northeast suburbs of Washington, D.C. You can reach the campus by car or Metro from Union Station and the three D.C.-area airports. If you are traveling by air, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is the closest airport to the University of Maryland. Baltimore/Washington International Airport is the second closest, and Dulles International Airport is the farthest of the D.C.-area airports from the campus. Read below for detailed instructions on how to get to the University of Maryland from the airport or train station, as well as driving information.
Registration will take place in Queen Anne’s Hall, a University of Maryland residence hall that is located just past Adele H. Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive. If you need help on your homeward travels after the conference is over, check back for return-trip information.
Arriving by Air
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
To get to the University of Maryland, College Park from Reagan National Airport, consider the following options for ground transportation:
Metro
Access the airport Metro station from the pedestrian bridges in Terminal B and Terminal C (if you arrive at Terminal A, take the shuttle bus to the other terminal building and access Metro from there). Once you enter the station, buy a Metro fare card from a kiosk. Calculate your fare by looking up your destination station: College Park–U of MD on the Green Line toward Greenbelt. One-way fares from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro station to the College Park–U of MD station are approximately $2.75–4.90 depending on the time of day and type of Metro pass, i.e. SmarTrip, senior/disabled/Medicare or fare card.
Board the Yellow Line train toward Fort Totten or Mt. Vernon Square. Exit the train at the L’Enfant Plaza station and — on the same platform — board the Green Line train toward Greenbelt. Get off the Green Line train at the College Park–U of MD station. As you exit the station, go to the bus pick-up area (area B on the station map) and take a quick ride on the complimentary Shuttle-UM bus, which is available every 10–15 minutes on weekdays, to the Stamp Student Union. From this point on campus, you will walk to Queen Anne’s Hall (building 061 on the campus map). Once you check in at registration and the hospitality desk there, you will walk a short distance to your residence hall.
SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle is a shared-ride van service that provides door-to-door ground transportation throughout the Washington, D.C., area. Advance reservations, which can be made online at www.supershuttle.com or by calling 202/296-6662 or 800/258-3826, are strongly recommended. SuperShuttle fares from the airport to campus are approximately $28 one way and $56 round trip.
If your flight arrives in either Terminal B or C at Reagan National Airport, collect your luggage in the baggage claim area on the lower level and then proceed to the SuperShuttle ticket counters next to doors four and nine. Ticket counters are open daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Call 800/258-3826 if you need assistance between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.
At the counter, provide your confirmation number for a preexisting reservation or make a reservation.
If your flight arrives at Terminal A, collect your luggage in the baggage claim area and proceed outside to the SuperShuttle loading area, which is immediately outside the Terminal A door. Proceed to that area and provide your confirmation number for a preexisting reservation or make a reservation.
Once you find your designated SuperShuttle van, tell the driver to drop you off at Queen Anne’s Hall (just past Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive) at the University of Maryland, College Park (some SuperShuttles only drop off at Stamp Student Union).
Taxi
Taxis are readily available at the airport. Visit the Reagan National Airport taxi service website for more information. After you have collected your baggage inside the airport, proceed to the curbside taxi waiting area, where an attendant will assign you to a taxi. Tell the driver to take you to Queen Anne’s Hall (just past Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive) at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Baltimore/Washington International Airport
The following ground transportation options are available from Baltimore/Washington International Airport to the University of Maryland, College Park campus:
B30 Metrobus to Greenbelt Metro Station
Direct Metrobus service is available between BWI Airport and the Greenbelt Metro station via the B30 Metrobus. A one-way fare on the B30 is $6 ($1.90 for senior/disabled/Medicare fares). Only cash and SmarTrip are accepted on buses, and exact change is required. There are two B30 bus stops at BWI Airport: One is located on the lower level of the International Concourse, and another is located outside the lower-level baggage claim between Southwest and Delta airlines. Follow the public transit signs within the airport to the nearest curbside location.
Once you enter the Greenbelt Metro station, buy a Metro fare card from a kiosk. Calculate your fare by looking up your destination station: College Park–U of MD on the Green Line toward Greenbelt. One-way fares from the Greenbelt Metro station to the College Park–U of MD station are approximately $1.60–2.15 depending on the time of day and type of Metro pass, i.e. SmarTrip, senior/disabled/Medicare, orfare card. Enter the station and board the Green Line train toward Branch Avenue. Get off the train at the first stop, the College Park–U of MD station. Exit the station and go to the bus pick-up area (area B on the station map). Take a quick ride on the free Shuttle-UM bus, which is available every 10–15 minutes on weekdays, to the Stamp Student Union on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. From this point, you will walk to Queen Anne’s Hall (building 061 on the campus map). Once you check in at registration and the hospitality desk at Queen Anne’s Hall, you will walk a short distance to your residence hall.
SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle is shared-ride van service that provides door-to-door ground transportation throughout the Washington, D.C., area. SuperShuttle fares from the airport to campus are approximately $32 one way and $64 round trip. When you arrive at the airport, follow the baggage claim and ground transportation signs to find the SuperShuttle ticket counter. At the counter, provide your confirmation number for a preexisting reservation or make a reservation. From there, employees will give you instructions for locating your designated van curbside. As you board the SuperShuttle van, tell the driver to drop you off at Queen Anne’s Hall (just past Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive) at the University of Maryland, College Park (some SuperShuttles only drop off at Stamp Student Union).
Other Shared-Ride Options

Taxi
Taxis are readily available at BWI Airport. The taxi stand is located just outside the baggage claim area on the lower level of the terminal. Once you have selected a taxi, tell the driver to take you to Queen Anne’s Hall (just past Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive) at the University of Maryland, College Park campus. BWI taxis are prohibited from charging flat rates. However, the fare from BWI Airport to the University of Maryland, College Park campus is approximately $65 outside of rush hour and $71 during rush hour for one way, plus gratuity. Dulles International Airport
5A Metrobus to L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station
Metrobus service is available from Dulles International Airport to L’Enfant Plaza Metro station via the 5A Metrobus. A one-way fare on the 5A bus is $6 ($1.90 for senior/disabled/Medicare fares). From the airport, follow the signs for ground transportation to the curb 2E bus stop outside the lower level of the main terminal. From there, board the 5A Metrobus to the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station. Only cash and SmarTrip are accepted on buses, and exact change is required.

Arriving by Train
Amtrak offers rail service from most major cities to Union Station in Washington, D.C. Public transportation, taxis, and van service are available to get you from there to the University of Maryland, College Park, campus.
The Metro station is located underground just outside of Union Station on the First St. NW side of the train station. Follow the signs inside Union Station to the Metro escalators. Once you enter, buy a Metro fare card from a kiosk. Take the Red Line train toward Glenmont or Silver Spring and exit at the Fort Totten station. Follow the signs to get to the Green Line train platform, which will be one level below. Get on the Green Line train toward Greenbelt, and get off at the College Park–U of MD station. As you exit the station, go to the bus pick-up area (area B on the station map). Take the complimentary Shuttle-UM bus, which runs every 10–15 minutes on weekdays, to the Stamp Student Union. From this point on campus, you will walk to Queen Anne’s Hall. Metro from Washington, D.C., to the Campus
The University of Maryland, College Park is located on the Green Line. Red Line passengers should transfer to the Green Line at the Fort Totten station. Yellow Line, Blue Line, and Orange Line passengers can transfer to the Green Line at the L’Enfant Plaza station.
Once you arrive at a Green Line station, take the Green Line train toward Greenbelt and get off at the College Park–U of MD station. As you exit the station, go to the bus pick-up area (area B on the station map). Driving Directions to Registration
Follow the University of Maryland’s directions to Queen Anne’s Hall. Temporary parking is available in the curbside pay station spaces outside Queen Anne’s Hall.

GPS Information
University of Maryland buildings do not have street addresses, and road names on campus can vary depending on your GPS brand. We suggest printing driving instructions from the directions to Queen Anne’s Hall link. Some GPS devices can accurately recognize “Queen Anne’s Hall” and some can identify the intersection of Campus Drive and Preinkert Drive in College Park, Maryland.
Residential Parking
Be sure to request a parking permit when you check in. For your convenience, bring your luggage with you to Queen Anne’s Hall when you arrive to register. You will receive instructions for parking your car in a long-term parking area (Lot 1) at registration. After you check in, leave your luggage with the registration staff while University of Maryland staff direct you to the valid long-term visitor parking lot. Once you have parked your car, return to Queen Anne’s Hall to retrieve your luggage and proceed to your assigned residence hall.
Commuter Parking
If you are a commuter participant, park in front of Queen Anne’s Hall temporarily for conference registration, as instructed above. You will receive instructions for parking your car in the Union Lane Garage.
